Elizabeth Henries

Elizabeth Henries is an attorney and professor whose practice focuses on the luxury, fashion, apparel, beauty and consumer goods industries. Beth has fifteen years of experience and represents clients ranging from very large multinationals to startups in matters including licensing, franchising, international development, wholesale relationships, vendor and regulatory compliance, advertising, marketing, model, sponsorship, and influencer agreements.

  • After starting her career in corporate finance representing financial institutions at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York City, Beth joined LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton-owned Donna Karan International as Corporate Counsel, where she spent seven years developing the DKNY and Donna Karan New York international boutique and product license portfolios and working closely with international teams in Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom.

    After assisting LVMH with its sale of Donna Karan International in 2017, Beth founded Henries PLLC, where she focuses on companies in the luxury, fashion, apparel, beauty and consumer goods industries.  Beth also represents a variety of clients in other industries ranging from media to biomedicine on general corporate matters, providing services including outsourced in-house counsel, corporate secretarial and governance management for her clients.

    Beth provides established companies with a flexible option for their legal department needs, serving as an outsourced in-house counsel during times when additional legal resources are needed, for example due to the departure or temporary leave of legal staff or in the event of a major transaction or other initiative that requires a temporary increase of legal staff.  For smaller companies that do not yet need a full-time in-house attorney, Beth can serve as the company’s primary general legal advisor.

    In 2018, Beth joined the faculty at The New School’s Parsons School of Design, where she is currently the Course Coordinator and Professor of Business Regulations and Practice.

    Beth is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Safia Anand

  • Safia has been practicing law for over 20 years. Her career and practice are focused on the development, expansion and protection of brands. Safia has experience in a wide array of intellectual property, brand management and commercial agreements, including, licenses, influencer agreements, advertising agreements, co-existence agreements, collaboration agreements, sponsorships/endorsements, website development agreements, manufacturing agreements, and distribution agreements.  When IP due diligence is needed in connection with various financial transactions, Safia will step in and ensure all considerations are met, including the handling of any related IP transfers. 

    Safia also has significant experience managing domestic and international trademark portfolios of all sizes. She counsels clients regarding the selection, filing, maintenance and enforcement of trademarks and copyrights throughout the world and advises clients with regard to advertising and protection of their brands.  Safia also has significant experience with intellectual property enforcement matters, intellectual property litigation, and trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the TTAB.


JUSTIN HEINRICH

Of Counsel, Cookie Artist

  • Justin started his legal career over 17 years ago at Proskauer Rose in New York City in the litigation and corporate defense and investigations groups where he represented clients in connection with a wide range of matters, including intellectual property, contract disputes, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and antitrust. After Proskauer, he continued honing his legal skills at a small, New York boutique law firm.

    In 2017, Justin transitioned to in-house practice, first at a private educational organization and then, most recently, a large, international public technology company where he provided guidance to management and oversaw projects covering a diverse range of subject matter areas, including but not limited to employment, client and vendor contracts, insurance, intellectual property, litigation, and real estate.

    In his in-house roles, Justin quickly became a trusted advisor to senior leadership and will strive to continue inspiring that confidence in his clients as he shifts back to private practice.

    Justin is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

  • In his spare time, Justin travels as much as he can to experience new cultures and cuisines. If he is not traveling, he is at home cooking, baking, and honing his cookie artistry skills.


ALAN LOWENTHAL

  • Alan has extensive corporate and commercial law expertise. In his roles as General Counsel for major corporations and as a partner in his law firm, Alan has significant experience successfully leading complex transactions, contract negotiation and drafting, performing a wide variety of commercial law services for global consumer product companies, managing advertising and marketing compliance matters for Fortune 100 companies, advising human resources departments, providing counsel on trademark and copyright matters, U.S. (e.g., FTC) and state regulatory matters, and privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM and COPPA.

  • After working as a consultant with an edtech startup based in Shanghai and more recently as an IT project manager with Intercontinental Hotels Group, Monique missed the energy and excitement of growing and building businesses with a high-impact team.

    In 2020, she founded Outlyned Strategies and now works intimately with founders executing operational visions and creating efficiencies to optimize company growth.

  • Emma McGoldrick is a New York designer, creative director + illustrator. She is the founder of ESM Creative Studio, a full-service creative studio dedicated to cultivating brands and content for creators and businesses that are focused and intentional. She founded ESM Creative in 2018.

  • Emma is a home cook who love a good book and exploring NYC with her mini dachshund, Sadie.


Anna Gurreri

Paralegal, True Crime Junkie

  • Anna has been a paralegal for over fifteen years with a concentration in Brand Management and Trademark Prosecution. Creative and organized, Anna has a team player attitude to assist clients in various matters including worldwide trademark and copyright portfolio management, enforcement and litigation.Anna has worked closely with key members to create training materials for use in anti-counterfeiting programs and customs enforcement. Additionally, Anna has experience in assisting litigation teams with all phases of discovery.
